Insensitive

I’m staying at my mother-in-law’s house. My husband and I, are saving money, so we can put a down payment on a house. Until then, I have to work harder to keep the peace around here. Jack gives his mother, money, for us staying at her house. Michelle clearly doesn’t want me here. Things didn’t work out the way she wanted it. My husband Jack, mother’s name, is Michelle, she’s short, chubby and crabby. Jack looks like his late dad, 5’7″, short curly brown hair. Jack doesn’t keep grudges like his mother. I guess you’re curious why Michelle doesn’t like me? I keep asking my husband why. He just laughs it off and said I’m imagining it. Nevertheless, the last time he came home from his trip, he’s a truck driver, he walked right in the middle of her, cussing me out and telling me Jack picked the wrong wife.” “Mom, stop it!” yelled Jack, “Why are you giving Jade such a hard time?” “You’re, asking me why?” replied his mom. I dislike her because of the way you treated Sara., threw her out like a piece of trash. Then decides to marry this one instead. Sara was good for you.” “Number one, Mom, Jade is not Sara. She was all about herself, you have never seen the other side of her. Sneaking around with different guy’s, making up excuses to go over her sister’s Karla apartment. To meet her date for that night.  Three months has passed, Jack was away again for his job. Jack told me before he left, he was going to call me, but if you have any more trouble with Mom, call me anytime. I was going to my job every day, we were getting closer, to our down payment on a house that we both loved. Michelle, stayed to herself, which was fine with me. Little did I know, she had something up her sleeve. I found out what it was. A week before Jack was supposed to come home. One day after work, I stopped to get a few groceries, at the market, which I normally did. When I got back to the house, the door was locked. I didn’t have a key, to get in. I rang the door numerous times, then banged on the door. Suddenly, my mother-in-law, looked out her window and yelled “I’m not letting you back in, I’m tired of you telling my son, lies.” I was stunned! “What lies did I tell Jack?” I cried, “Don’t worry, Missy, I’ll think of something” Well, what am I supposed to do with these groceries? I yelled. “You’ll think of something” then she left the window. I sat on the front steps and cried. One thing was on my side, it was the beginning of summer. I called Jack, and told him my situation. He said, “I’m not giving her the satisfaction, of calling her. I’m tired of all her drama. Rent a room, right now, until, I get there. I’ll try and get back as soon as I can, let me know. We’ll get a small apartment when I get back. If you want, drive back to the market and keep, just the things you need. Also, when I get back, we’ll go to the house, and pack all of our things. I’m sorry, my angry mother, is acting this way, you don’t deserve this. When you get settled, give me a call.” “I love you” After he hung up, got in my car, called several motels for a vacancy, luckily there was one vacant, a mile from the house. Drove to the motel, and took care of what I needed to do. There was a small frig and mic in the motel, I just kept what I required. Went back to the market and returned all the things, that wasn’t any use to me now. Called Jack, back, later in the evening, told him where I was located. “That’s great news, babes, see you soon!” The next day, I received a nasty call from Michelle, while being at work. She yelled, “Your and Jack’s things are all packed up, get them as soon as you can. They’ll be thrown in the trash, if you don’t”. Then she hung up. I didn’t call Jack, just wished he would be home soon. Four days later, after getting done work and going back to the motel, I saw Jack, sitting in his car. He got out when he saw me parking next to him. We both hugged and kissed, went inside the room and I told him about the spiteful call from his mother. Jack said tomorrow morning, we can start looking for an apartment, being you are off work for the weekend. The next morning, Jack went online, found an apartment in the next town. We both went to look at it, we both loved it! We made arrangements to rent the place. It is now ours! We cleaned the place up, not that it was dirty, just to our liking. Next, we went over to Jack’s mother’s house. “Oh My!” Jack knocks at the door several times, no answer. He gets his key out and turns to me, says, lets gets this over with before it gets dark, I agree. When we both went in the house, his mother was sitting in the living room watching TV. She looked up and said make it fast, everything is in the bedroom. Jack didn’t want to get disrespectable, so he said nothing. After we loaded both vehicles, with all our things. Jack asked me to stay in my car. He was going back into the house. Before he got to the front door, his mother opened the door with her hand out. She said, “If your finished, I’ll take my key”. Jack took the key out of his pocket and handed it to her. I heard him say, “You are mighty anxious to get Sara back in here.” Then he turned and got in his car.

I stopped in my track’s, Vince had a big smile on his face. Probably because I almost ran into him.
“Hello stranger” he said, “It’s so nice to see you again.” He puts his arms around me, and gives me a kiss on my cheek. I was speak-less, after composing myself, I said. “ Nice to see you again, Vince. ” I was lying through my teeth, my thought came back to me, after being with him for three years. He was such a liar and cheater.
“Do you think it was just an coincidence. That we bumped into each other today, after all this time Krista? Remember this use to be our favorite day?”
“I do!” “Until I found out what a cheating jerk you were?” “Come on Krista, that was eight years ago.”
Without warning it started snowing and the wind was blowing in our faces,my scarf almost blew off my neck. The snow was sticking to the surfaces, because of the cold ground. They both noticed a few people went into the little eatery across the street, to get out of the wind and snow. “I better start walking home before the temperature starts dropping. Ice isn’t good for anyone, said Krista.” “We’re only suppose to get an coating, Vince said. Why don’t we walk across the street and grab a cup of hot coffee for the old times,with a special friend. Then I’ll walk you home.” Krista thought about it for a moment. She knew he had gotten married three months after they broke-up. Also they have two children. She seen them about a couple of months ago walking down the street in town. His wife was holding the baby and he was holding his other child’s hand as they were walking. Krista didn’t think they saw her, she quickly disappeared into a doorway. What the heck! she thought. We’re only going to have a cup of coffee. ”Okay!”she sigh. Vince grabbed hold of her arm, to help her get across the street.With the temperature dropping, plus the winds blowing we were both sliding on the surface of the street. When they finally entered the eatery, their were just a few people inside. We sat at the counter and ordered coffee. The counter person came back with the coffee, and asked us if we would like anything else. Vince said to the lady behind the counter, “Your new here?” “ Yes I am, almost an week today.”she chuckled. The woman was around our ages,in our thirties. Long dark brown hair and tall and lanky. She said.”My name is Denise, do you and your girlfriend or wife come in here often?”” First of all, Krista is just a friend, my name is Vinny, nice to meet you Denise.” Just as he finished talking, a customer called her over and asked for a refill. “Be back she told him.” Vince had a big grin on his face, just like old times. “Wow” “ Didn’t you tell me maybe 15 minutes ago, you changed ? You have never changed. I’ve been sitting here listening to you both, like I’m invisible. You both must like a superficial relationship. My subconscious told me to just go home. Again I didn’t listen.”
“Why don’t we sit here and drink our coffee and chat?”replied Vince. “ I thought we could, nevertheless, here she comes again.” “Hon”, can I get you and your friend another hot cup of coffee?” “Sure” answered Vince. “ I don’t care for any more, thanks any way I muttered.” I got up off the stool, looked for the ladies room in the back. “ I’ll be right back Vince.” Denise and Vince continued their conversation, didn’t even notice me getting up. When I came out of the ladies room, Denise was sitting next to him. They both were laughing, I guess she is a good-time girl. Without hesitation, I took my scarf out of my coat pocket and put it around my neck, and button my coat. Walked over to the counter, and said my good-by.” I’m glad we had that conversation about how you changed.” “Next joke!” “Wait Krista” he yelled. I turned around and said,”Don’t forget to tell your wife and kids, I said hello.” I walked outside into the snowy weather and thought got ya!

Who Would of Thought That ?

One summer evening, in the little town of Weals. Betty was sitting on her back porch reading.

She put her book down, and waited for the noise to stop.

The dogs,a couple of houses down, were barking consistently.

They have been barking,ever since their next-door neighbors moved,last week.

Their owner seems to have to bring them into the house to quite them.

Betty is short,with curly white hair. Her husband passed away five and a half years ago.

Her grown children, have moved on with their own lives, out of Pennsylvania.

That said, Betty has been living quietly by herself with Susie, her cat.

As Betty picked up her thriller book, that she was reading.

She thought she heard a cat meowing.

Betty looked under her side table next to her.

“Look at you Susie, you’re in la,la, land.”

“I must be hearing things,this book must be getting to me.”

thought Betty, as she smiled at the cat.

The next night,she went back out on her porch, to read.

Susie jumped on Betty’s lap, like she did as a kitten.

Susie has big grey spots, all over her white body.

On the tip of her tail, she has a brown spot.

Betty and her late husband,fell in love with Susie,right away, twelve years ago, at the S.P.C.A.

The dogs started barking again, it seemed louder than usual.

The two dogs,looked like they were barking at the back door next to the yard.

I wonder if there is someone in the empty house,Betty thought.

That’s just a crazy thought,but who knows,crazy things goes on,she said to herself.

After about two hours of reading, Betty put her book down.

“Let’s go in the house and go to bed, Susie.”

Betty stretched and Susie followed.

The following morning, Betty made a cup of coffee,trying to wake up.

She walked out on her back porch,as a dog from the next yard was barking,at the window, in the empty house.

The brown dog,from the neighbor near by, must have gotten out from his yard.

Something must be wrong in the house. Betty said to herself.

“I’m going to call the police, and see what is going on.” she said out loud.

Betty called the police and explained what’s happening.

The fellow on the phone said, he would send an officer over.

Betty gave the fellow on the phone,the address of the empty house,and thanked him,before she hung up.

Betty waited on her porch,until she seen the police car pull up,about an hour later.

Betty walked over to the house, where the police just got out of their car.

Stella, the neighbor next door from the empty house came out of her house.

“What’s going on?” yelled Stella

“This lady called us,she thinks someone is in the empty house.”replied the officer.

“I know my dogs have been barking,since the people moved out,a week or so ago.”

“They’re really, aren’t barkers.” sigh Stella

Before the police stepped on the front porch. This brown dog,ran to the front door of the empty house, and was sniffing under the door.

“Who dog is this? said the officer

“One of my dogs, Flo. She must have gotten out of the yard somehow.” replied Stella.

“Everybody stand back,we’re going to have to break the door down. We tried to get in touch with the owner of the house. ”

“The woman who answered the phone,said she hasn’t seen Mr. Ply for three months, since he moved out.”

” Help me open this.” one officer said to the other officer.

When the door was finally opened.

“Everyone stay on the sidewalk,until we check this place out.”

Flo darted inside the house.

When the officers went into the kitchen, they seen Flo licking the face of a brown puppy,about maybe five months old.

Curled up next to the puppy, was a kitten, all white.

They both seem okay, nevertheless, they were hungry,and needed water.

The animals were carried out to the police, Flo stayed behind the police wagging her tail.

“The puppy is one of Flo’s. How dare those people leave these animals behind.” sighed Stella

Betty said, Can I take the kitten home with me?

“No you can’t.” replied the officer

“They have to be checked out by the vet.

You can call the S.P.C.A., next week,to see if they’re ready for adoption.

A week later, Betty and Stella, went out to the S.P.C.A, and Betty adopted the white kitten. Stella of course, adopted the puppy.

When Stella took the puppy home, Flo was happy to see her puppy again.

Betty already told Susie, that she was bringing a surprise back.

When Susie seen the white kitten,she started purring,and started washing the kitten. You could tell the kitten was contented also,by the way she was curled up next to Susie, sleeping.

“Kindness”

I had to take the bus this morning,my Chevy SUV broke down yesterday. So, I put it in the shop to get fixed. I’m no fan of the buses, but you have to, what you have to do.

I’m on my way to the toy store in town. I’m going to buy a birthday present for little Timmy, who lives next door to me. His birthday is tomorrow, he’ll be seven years old.

His mother Joan, told me he likes to play boardgames….especially Monopoly. More than likely, I’ll find something for him.

As the bus pulled and stopped in front of the toy store,it started to rain. I waited for the door to open, to get off the bus,then my foot slipped getting off.
I fell right in the arms of this handsome guy. I felt so embarrassed.
The bus driver yelled,”Lady are you all right?”

“Yes,I’m fine!”

I know my face was red,because it felt warm….. But I was okay.

The fellow was still holding me.He then left me go,and said,”That’s a close one.”

“Thank you so much!” “I better watch where I’m walking next time.”

It starting to pour and I said, “I better get going.”

“My name is Jeff,you didn’t tell me your name.”

“Nice to meet you Jeff,lets go under the awning next to the post office.
Both of us ran laughing under the awning.

“I chose a nasty day to shop,I chuckled.”

“Jeff my name is Darcy. I’m on my way to the toy store,to buy a gift for my next door neighbor.”

“That’s nice!” he looked at his watch, “I have to get to work,here is my cellphone number.” “Call me”

After he left,I ran into the toy store. I ask the store clerk,where the board games were. She said,”In aisle four.”

I found the monopoly game,purchase it,the cashier was nice enough to wrap it for me.
When I went back outside,the sun was shining. “This is April weather.” I mumbled.

I decided to stop at the library,to see if I could find a good book. This was Saturday,I didn’t have anything plan. My girlfriend Stacy,ask me if I wanted to go down to the shore,this weekend. But I told her my vehicle was in shop…I had to hold on to my money.

I found two romance novels,after staying in the library for a couple of hours. I was ready to take the bus back home.

When I got back home,I knock on Joan door. Timmy answered the door,and I handed him his gift. He gave me a big hug,and thanked me. It made me feel so good.
The weekend went too fast, Monday morning came. Before I left to go to work,there was a knock at my door. It was the man from the auto shop.
I opened the door,and he handed me my key.

“You had a loose wire,I just connected it,and it’s fine to drive.”

“There is no charge,for this.”

“Thank you so much,I won’t forget you.”

“Have a great day Darcy.”

“I was elated,he saved me a lot of money. My day was great for the rest of the day!”

After I arrived home from work,my cellphone rang.

It was Joan,”Hi Darcy,I want to thank you for making Timmy so happy.He couldn’t believe, you knew what he wanted for his birthday.

After he ate his dinner,and did his homework. Timmy took the game across the street to show his friend Ms. Hooks..She is a widow,and Timmy stops by to see her. They both like to play board games.”

“I’m so happy to here that. Timmy is such a thoughtful young man.”

“Yes he is Darcy,thanks again,I’ll talk to you later.”

“After I get settled,I think,I’ll give Jeff a call and see where that takes me.”

“Sensitive and Curious”

Babs Forma threw her handbag on the kitchen floor. As she slammed the door behind her,and bursted out with tears.
I can’t believe this,today, when I got off the bus from work. I seen my boyfriend walking down the street,with this bitch. She has long red hair,and a ass that you couldn’t miss. They both were laughing,and seem to be having a great time.

Brent is suppose to be working over-time today.

Babs is 24 years old, 5’4″ tall,with brown eyes and dark blonde hair.She is sensitive, and curious, but can be jealous.

Brent is Babs boyfriend of 2 years.

He is 25 years old, 5’8″ tall, with hazel eyes and auburn hair. Brent is resourceful, witty and honest.

As I opened the door, I said, “Ugh!” “I was watching the news! “Things going on out there, are really scary, after viewing the events.”

Brent then threw his cell-phone and a little bag on the coffee table,and practically ran to the bathroom.

“I hate to be sneaky,but I’m going to check his phone calls out, before he gets back.”

“I then snatched the cellphone,and went through all his calls. Their were calls that he made to me, his friend Josh and somebody named Sherry.”
“Who the hell is Sherry?” “Maybe it’s that bitch, with the big ass?”

“Just as I put the phone back on the table. I heard heavy foot- steps, coming from the bathroom.”

“Josh and I had a late lunch,about a hour and half ago. Being I have to work until 9 to-night. I thought I’d stop by and give you your favorite blueberry pie.”

“I almost for to tell you,next Thursday I have another double shift.”

“That’s bull scrap!” You’re suppose to take me out to dinner for my birthday.”

“I’m sorry Babs,I forgot! We have this deadline,that can’t wait. I might be working all night.This assignment must be finished by Friday morning.”

“Well!” “What am I suppose to do, sit around on my birthday?”

“Why don’t you go over to Matty’s bar with Jenny and have a drink?” “I’ll try and run over and have a drink with you,for your birthday.”

“That sounds like a plan,if Jenny is free. She mention, maybe if Ken isn’t working next Thursday, we all can go out and have a drink, at Matty’s. But I told her, you already made reservations for dinner.”

“Brent gave me a long soft kiss,with his warm lips.”

“If I had more time,I’d take you into the bedroom,and finish this. Nevertheless, I better get back to work.”

“After he left, I called Jenny,but her line was busy. I’ll have to call her back.

“I wonder who this Sherry is?” I should of mention to Brent,that I seen him,with that bitch! But he might think that I was spying on him. I don’t think, he has a person named Sherry,working with him.

I’m just going to come out and ask him, when he calls.”

I called Jenny back later,and she answered on the third ring.

“Hi Babs!” I just got off the phone with Ken. “What luck!” “He is going out of town for a couple of weeks,for his job. We were suppose to go and visit his parents,next week.”

“Well, since Brent is working over-time again,and Ken is out of town. Do you want to go with me to Marty’s Thursday night,and have a birthday drink with me?”

“Sure Babs!” “What are friends for!”

“What time do you want to go Babs?”

“9:00,if its okay with you?” “I’ll pick you up.”

“That’s fine,but I’ll pick you up,it’ll be your birthday present.” laughed Jenny

“See you Thursday night,I’ll call before I come.”

“Thanks Jenny,see you than.”

“I started humming my favorite song “Blue Bells”,that I just heard on the radio.”

The following week went by fast. Here it was Wednesday already. Everything was going good.
But I had to get this Sherry out of my mind. What if Brent didn’t love me anymore? I decided to wait until after my birthday,to confront Sherry to Brent.”

“I made dinner,and afterwards, Brent and I went into the living-room,to watch a little T.V. We carried with us, our slice of cake,that I made the day before.”

As we sat down, Brent’s cell-phone rang.He looked at the face of his phone,and hung it up. He didn’t bother to answer it.

“My friend from work just called,and he needs me at work. So I have to leave.”

“With tears in my eyes…I screamed,”Don’t you mean Sherry needs you!!!”

“I don’t know what your talking about!

Then he slammed the door behind him.

“He didn’t call me at all that night. Matter of fact the next day,I didn’t hear from him at all.
That night,Jenny called me,and I told her what happened last night.”

“Don’t worry about him, this is your day. I’ll be over to pick you up.”

“While we were riding to Marty’s,we both didn’t say to much.”

“When we pulled up to Marty’s. We both got out of her ford,and started to walk inside. It was a beautiful night.”

“Jenny said,”Hell with Brent!” “Lets go in and have a good time.”

“As we opened the door,it was dark in there. Jenny looked at me,and I looked at her.”

“All of a sudden, the lights came on. Their was a huge crowd their. They all started sing “Happy Birthday”

“At the end of the counter stood Brent,and this red-head bitch. He had his arm around her shoulders.”

“I walked over to him,tried to slap his face,but he grabbed hold of my arm, and laughed. My eyes got big as day,and my mouth was wide open.”

“Calm down birthday girl!” “I would like you to meet my sister Sherry.”
With a laugh,he said, Sherry this is my wild girlfriend Babs. She isn’t usually wild like this,but under the circumstances. She thought,you were my girlfriend.”

“I guess,I would act the same way,not knowing what was going on.”smiled Sherry
“I’ll tell you the story Babs….About 2 weeks ago,I called my brother,and told him I was coming home from Texas to see him.We’re the only family we have. Mom and Dad,was killed in a car accident,when we were both teenagers.Brent is all that I have.”

“Let me finish it,because everyone is standing around waiting for the party to begin. I asked her to wait, until, at least a week. Because I was going to have a surprise birthday party for you. When she arrived that day,I know you seen us. We were walking from the train station. I told Sherry,we both blew it.But when I stopped over at the house to bring you the pie. To see if, you really did see us. You didn’t say anything about it,so I was releaved.
“I couldn’t tell you last night who Sherry was,so I left. Can you every forgive me,love?”

“Being it was your sister,I’ll forgive you. But don’t do it again.

“Everybody started clapping,and yelling…..”Lets get the show on the road.”

“I’m not finished yet,said Brent with a big smile.”

“He then got down on his knee,and said. “Babs will you marry me?”

“I was in state of shock. My mouth wouldn’t move. Everybody was waiting for my answer. I suddenly belted out….”Yes Brent,I will marry you.”

“You could hear the whistling and clapping behind us. You could see them all, throwing confetti in the air.

“Brent and I, held each other as we kissed.”

“This is the best birthday present,I ever had.”I yelled

Wink,was sitting on his front porch,that he and his late wife,Rose owned. This was his last day here, which he called home.

Wink’s real name was Stetson John, his nickname came from his friends, when he was a young lad. Wick had this twitch in his left eye, ever since he was born. Everyone thought he was winking at them.

At age 85……Wink thought he was doing great.

Since his Rose, of 50 years passed suddenly 7 years ago,at age 73. They borne 2 children, one son Brent,age 60,and a daughter Valeria, age 58. They both have good jobs and spouses. Brent and his wife Karen, has 1 son, Brent Jr. Valeria and her husband Kent, has no children.

Wink was in great shape for his age. Until 2 years ago,when he started forgetting things. It started with little things,than it progressed. He would drive somewhere and forget how to get back home.
Luckily one time,a police officer noticed him pulled over the side of the road. Wink was standing outside his car and waving to everybody, that passed by.
When the officer pulled behind his car, he got out of his vehicle,he walked over to Wink.

Wink smiled at the officer.

The officer didn’t know what to think,he was smiling and winking at him.

“What’s the matter sir?”

“I have to get home, my wife Rose,has dinner waiting for me. My problem is,I don’t know which way to go.”

“So your lost sir?”

“Yes you could say that!”

“Can I see your drivers license?”

The officer took the license,that Wink gave him.

“Stand on the other side of your car,and I’ll be right back.”

The officer enter his vehicle,and did background checking. He came back out of the car after 5 minutes.

“Mr. John,you live 8 miles from here.Let me take you to the police station for your safety. Then we’ll call your wife,so she doesn’t worry.”

Once they got there,Wink gave the officer his number. The officer called his house several times,but no one answered.

“Do you have any other family that I can call?

“Let me look in my wallet.”

There he found another number.

“Here you go,this is my daughter Valeria’s number.”

The officer took the card from Wink,and called his daughter.

The phone rang, after the third ring, a woman answered.

“Hello Valeria speaking.”

“Hello,are you Mr. John’s daughter?

“Yes I am.”

“This is officer Minsky,I have your father here at the police station.”

“Oh my god!” Is he okay?”

“Yes he is, I found him parked along side the road, he was lost. I called your mother,but there was know answer. Your father said he was late for dinner.”

“Oh my!” Mom’s been dead for quite a while.”

“Sorry to here that!”

“Which station is he at? I’ll come and pick him up.”

“Hanover’s township.”

“I know where that’s at…..he really did get lost, didn’t he?” “Can I talk to my dad?”

“Sure thing.”

He handed Wick the phone.

“Hello!” Wick said

“Hi dad,I’m on my way!”

“You don’t have to pick your mother up.”

“I know dad,I know.”

After that incident,Wink stay with his daughter,and her husband Kent for a while. they knew he couldn’t go home by himself any more.

Valeria and her brother Brent sat down with their father,and talked about what he wanted.

Wink kept changing his mind about what he wanted.

Therefore,brother and sister, hoped they made the right decision for him.

Their decision was, he was going to live with Brent,and his wife Karen. Both had to work,so they hired a nurse to take care of him, while they worked.

That meant,his house that he loved,had to be sold.

“That is the reason,Wink sat on his porch for the last time. While his daughter and son, were in the house gathering all his personal belongings. The moving truck would be there soon.

“Don’t worry Rose, we’re going to be okay.”

“Maryann’s Visit”

My sister Maryann,is on the bus,going back to Colorado. She has a long way to go 44 hours.  I don’t think,I could sit that long.

My sister isn’t home yet,and I miss her. I’m sure everyone in the family will miss her. It’s been twenty-nine years since we all seen her.  Of course we kept in touch with her on the phone. But it isn’t the same as seeing her in person. She is still funny with all her jokes,and sayings,and still beautiful.

My sister has been planning this vacation for quite some time. She said it took a long time to prepare for this,but was well worth it.

My husband Charlie and I invited her to stay with us for two weeks,which she did.

Everyone of my siblings,and most family members, took their turns to spend time with her. Sharing things and going different places that Maryann would enjoy.

She got to visit family members,just to enjoy the company,and swap different stories from the past.

Maryann’s things to do,  which she accomplished all.

She said,she would be happy,just sitting in the back yard. Just drinking coffee and chatting about the old times.

Which we did, but she fell in love with my enclosed first porch. Yes,that is where we did our chatting about the old times,and of course drinking our favorite drink,which is  coffee.

 

Yes I’m going to miss my sister, the laughing, the chats, our walks, and her just being near. My youngest sister Rosie,will surly agreed with me.

“Home”

Neal Finus was in a nursing home in Pennsylvania. He had plenty of time to think. he was in his late seventies,short and stocky.He use to have a mop of hair,which was dark brown …… But now he is almost bald.

There isn’t a day that goes by,that he doesn’t think of his wife Ruby. They were married for forty-eight years,and had three children together.  Neal Jr, Nina, and Terri.     Neal Jr, was killed in the service, twenty-five years ago.  Nina travels around the world,with her husband. Her husband’s  job takes him all over the world. She keeps in touch sometime.

Terri and her three children,which are grown now. Lived with Neal and Rudy after she was divorce from her husband.

When Ruby died suddenly , about five years ago. Terri stayed and took care of her father.

Until Terri got tired of taking care of her father.  She suggested  for him to sell his house, and they would move into an apartment. Neal wouldn’t have anything to do with it,because he was staying put.

Terri threaten to leave him by himself. Because she had her own life to live.

The arguing went on for quite a while. Terri didn’t leave,  because she had no place to go.  The money she was getting from working four days a week at the corner store. Wasn’t sufficient to go out on her own.

One day as they were arguing, Neal had a hard-attack. It was pretty bad. He was in the hospital for about a month. He couldn’t go home until someone was their to take care of him.

Neal told his doctor about the crazy arguing with his live-in daughter,about selling his house.

 

Terri called her sister, and told her about their father. Nina said her and her husband are in Alaska.

She didn’t think she could come home any time some.

“Just do what you think is best!” sighed  Nina

Since then Neal was sent to a near-by nursing home.

Terri would come in and take her father in his wheel chair,out in the garden.  Both still fussing over about selling his house.

Neal told her,he refuses to sell the  house.

The visits got less and less with Terri.  Nina and Terri would call him….. ask if he needed anything.

His answer is  always,”I just want to go back home.”

From day to day,Neal sits in his wheelchair,and thinks about the good times…they all had.

“He thought,   “If Rudy was still here,she would take care of me in our house.”

“It’s my Life We’re Talking About”

Everybody needs a vacation,thought Brianna Justly.  I have a lot of thinking to do, it depends on the rest of my life.

Dustin Antin is twenty-three years old,with light brown hair that he wears short. He is 5’9″, and a little heavy. He graduated from Warlord high school, in Pucks Pa., a while ago like  his girlfriend Brianna.

Dustin has  had   several different jobs, that he didn’t like, since graduating,so he just quits. He is still living home with is parents,and his younger brother and sister.

“What the heck!”   he muttered. “I have all the time in the world to find a job.”

Brianna and Dustin started going out together about a year ago. Just about the time her mother and father were getting a divorce.

They both have been friends since school and they both have the same likes.   “Well almost”

Brianna wants to make something out of her life,she has been working and trying to save money,to go to night school,to become a nurse.

Five days a week she works at a nursing home,  sometimes six,   trying to save her money to get ahead. Nevertheless, something always comes up with Dustin,and he needs a little help.

He tells her he’ll help her out when he gets a job.

Dustin has always liked Brianna. He likes her long straight blonde hair, blue eyes,and her slender body. Maybe she weighs 90 lbs,thought Dustin, maybe some day I’ll marry her.

That’s what happened,Dustin ask Brianna to marry him. That started the fireworks.

Brianna question him right away.” You don’t even have a job, your living home with your parents and loving it. I love you Dustin, but I can’t live that way.”

“I’ll change Brianna, I love you.”

“Let me think about this,because I’m talking about my life.”

Dustin grew angry, “I’ll give you a week to think about it,and the answer better be yes.”

“We’ll see Dustin,we’ll see.

After Brianna went home,it didn’t take her long to think about it.

If Dustin is threatening me now.  What will happen if  I decide to marry him,and, I do something he doesn’t like.

She muttered to herself,  “I’m glad he brought out his bad side now.”

The next morning  when she awoke, Brianna  told her mother,what happen between her and Dustin. That her decision was to take a long vacation, maybe she wouldn’t be coming back. Her bags were all ready pack,then she loaded her car,and kissed her mother good-by. Her first stop was at her bank,she withdrew all her money,and was on her merry way,to start her new life.

Kaden Matthens

Kaden couldn’t believe that he was finally graduating. He always was a problem in school. He only had a hand-full of  friends,and they always made fun of him. That is the reason why he became the class clown, other wise he kept to himself. He had this dream of finishing school,and just disappearing.  

Kaden was seventeen, 5’5″,slim with dark brown hair,that he wore two inches above his shoulders combed back. When he wasn’t in school,he was a loner.  Kaden  didn’t have a close-knit family….His mother and father were hardly around,his two sister were married. Mostly he was home by himself,on the computer playing games,or watching the television.

Kaden had gotten a job several  months after he graduated.

Maybe a couple of times a week,  he’d  find himself going down to the restaurant around the corner. There is this new waitress,who seems very friendly,and Kaden likes her. Her name is Cindy,she is around his age, pretty and petite,with long blonde hair,and big green eyes.  They both clicked the first time they met. When she wasn’t busy,she would come over and talk to Kaden. Both seemed to have the same family environment.

Cindy’s mother and father worked all the time. Her sister Mary ,who was a couple of years older than her,moved in with her boyfriend. That left her  alone,when she wasn’t in school or working part-time.

After a while Kaden got up the guts to ask Cindy out. Cindy didn’t hesitate,she said yes right away. She was having the same feelings about Baden, as Kaden was having for her.

Sometimes Kaden would take Cindy to the movies,or they would walk to a Wendy’s and get something to eat. They mostly liked to walk to the park  nearby and stay for hours just talking. On one occasion when it was raining so hard,Kaden took Cindy to his house. He knew no one would be home,which he really didn’t care.

They both started making out and one thing lead to another. Afterward,Kaden told Cindy he was so sorry,that it happened. Cindy told Kaden,I wanted to do it as much as you did.

The next day, Kaden talked about his dream,just to disappear someday. Cindy found that exciting,just to be with Kaden. She told Kaden that she would go anywhere  in the world with him.

Not long after that,Kaden and Cindy made plans to disappear together, after she graduated. He would have to wait  several months until Cindy graduated,which was important to her,which he agreed.

The months passed quickly,the day finally  came when Cindy graduated.   Kaden told her he was very proud of her. Lets continue with our plans now.

Cindy said she had something to tell him,she kept it a secret until tonight. “I’m going to have our baby.”

Kaden couldn’t believe his ears,he was so happy.

That doesn’t change anything,I brought the tickets for the train,which is one way. Where ever it takes us. When we both decide which state,it will be our new home,to start our new family.

Off they went to the train station,arm in arm.
